A place for the High School Rep to share writing and begin a written dialogue with each other for the development of the play "the smell of rain when it's raining."
Blugh. That sums up this day, week, and currently, this blogger. Not that any of it is bad, it's just lacking energy.
It'll get better again. Soon. I think people are just getting used to the shock of summer being here and not having to go to school and such. That's how it is for me anyways.
Oh yeah, when does/did the summer class for the Rainplay start? I figured out that I wouldn't be able to do it, but I still would like to visit once or twice if that's possible.
PS- Elizabeth, that's awesome. How do you measure something like that, though? Probably with a whole bunch of crazy physics stuff.
Hi guys. You were ignoring me, but I'm okay with that since I was in Canada for two weeks watching my other play. Yeah. I have another play and I actually worked with other high school students... whatcha think bout that?
But I've missed you. Deeply. And I'm very much looking forward to this summerfest business (which starts July 11, Ty) and to having you all read the full draft of the play and hearing your thoughts in person.
And for those of you who can't be there this summer, I'll continue posting things on the blog so you won't feel left out and so I can get your fabulous thoughts about the speed of rain and sneezes.
Enjoy being out of school! Watch Dazed and Confused and sing "School's Out for Summer!" Or not. Whatev.
PS -- did you know that the Canadians claim to have invented "chillax" ten years ago...?! I thought it was all you guys.
Canadians WISH they invented that word. Or anything, for that matter. Canada is just desperate to draw attention away from the plethora of "Great White North" jokes they no doubt have to put up with every day. Poor Canada, eh?
Haha it's funny because I actually have been singing School's Out For the Summer. I think I might be a little jealous that you've been working with other highschool students. I mean, I thought we had something special. I thought our relationship was going somewhere, but it turns out I as wrong! We're just some fling to you aren't we? Well we won't be your toy, sister! I'm going to stay with my sister...
"Pshaw." Typical commie Canadians trying to claim the inventions of our words. They're always trying to get in the way of us being better than them. They probably have some sort of alliance with Child Services to stop us from having fun with sneezes in physics class, just cuz it'd be like them to do something like that.
I think I'll be able to forgive Janice, but I need time to heal. I'm more concerned about her interactions with Canada. Keep an eye on her.
PS- "But mister Minister, it isn't like this film is the first troublesome thing to come out of Canada- let us not forget Brian Adams." "Now now, the Canadian government has apologized for Brian Adams on several occasions." -South Park Movie
Hi everybody:) I'm err... also sorry for not writing for like a g'zillion years. I'm sorry you all felt ignored. I've been reading everything I just haven't thought anything worth sharing, I guess. Most of what I think has already been covered. Sometimes I'll type something in that little 'leave your comment' box but then I don't publish it because I'm pretty much just repeating what everyone else said. Well, I guess that's what I'm doing right now too, ha ha, but I thought this one is worth it so that you all know I haven't fallen off the planet or something. Sorry 'bout all that. Although I guess I'm not too sorry because SOME of us were in Canada. Bet you think you're so special, hanging out with the kids who created the word 'chillax.' But seriously, Janis, Canada? You haven't even finished this play and you're already writing something for somebody else? What is this? (I'm just kidding, well, sortof, I doubt they really created the word 'chillax,' you can't just call words like that, nobody made it up, it just exists.)
Kristin, I read that about sneezes too, on a Snapple bottle top.
Ty, I'm going to visit The Rain Thingy too. We should go together. Hey, will you teach me to play the harmonica sometime this summer. I still can't do it.
Well, there ya go. That's all I have to say, I guess. Does that make up for the g'zillion years in which I haven't written? Hope so. Sorry about the whole ignoring issue. I know you were kinda kidding but just incase, I hope there were no hard feelings. Love you all:) I promise I'll try to actually post next time. Well, unless Janis leaves for Canada again. Then I'm totally going to boycott this thing! She and all her important playwriting people/Canadian kids (nothing against Canadians or children)
Okay. I've been informed that I'm causing unneccessary friction between two neighboring countries. Apparently, I've mistaken the Canadian claim... they don't say they've invented "chillax," just that it's been a part of their vocab since the mid 90s. So. It's me that's at fault here. See, I am out of the loop. I had never heard "chillax" before and because I think you guys are brilliant and hillarious, I just assumed that you invented the word. And when I mentioned that to my Canadian friends, they became a bit defensive. Well, no. Not defensive. They just set me straight.
Joke's on me.
Actually, I think you guys would really fit in well up there. They're hip, they're liberal and political. They love theatre. And break dancing. And Twizzlers. And while they insult our consumerism and choice of President, they are actually pretty ennamored with our country.
Yes, it's true. I think Canada is pretty great. Maybe you should keep an eye on me. But I promise not to immigrate in the near future. As Dani said, I do have a play to work on for you guys... which, by the way Dani, now has a complete first draft. So you and Ty should definitely plan on being there for the final staged reading.
And Danny, it was not a fling. We just took a little bit of space and I flirted with Canada but now I'm back. I wouldn't pass up true love.
