The Taste of Sunlight in December

Okay. We know what happend on that rainy spring Friday night in the park. Now fast forward. Six months have passed. It's a Monday morning in December. There's a bit of snow on the ground, but it's not too cold. The air is crisp. The sun is bright and sharp. You can feel it in your lungs and nose when you breathe. It leaves a faint but distinct taste. What is that taste? And where are Poet and Rainboy and Sam and Justin and Noelle and Gretchen and Lisa and Sophie and Jill and Casey and Maggie now? Emotionally, mentally, physically... what is going on with them? PS -- There's no school today (roads were too icy or the heat broke at the school or something... but unexpectedly, school was cancelled today).

Hmm... Well I think I'll say what I think Sam is up to. Seems fitting, no?

I'm both glad and sad to say that Sam is probably in the warm sunny Texas region. But wait. Colleges get off early. Perhaps he's on a roadtrip back home for the holidays. His family doesn't have a load of cash and they've worked out that they'd fly him in for Thanksgiving but that he'd have to drive up for Christmas. Sam knows a kid at school named Eli who, coincidentally, used to live in Indian Head Park and said that he'd give him a lift in his truck as long as he helped pay for gas and food along the way. He just got paid for a job he finished the week before anyway: assisting an architect to draw up repair plans for damage done by that one hurricane. He's been to caught up in the excitement of his classes and his architecture internship to worry about girls, (including Noelle which he hasn't forgotten about but has had some success in trying to let go of) although he has made a new circle of friends that share his same interests. He's also in a new rockabilly band, though he's not very good (as was proven on a Rainy day last spring).

He's enjoying his new life a lot but wonders how things are back on the farm. He keeps in contact Elliot but has hardly talked to Justin once or twice since he left for college; something he's very unhappy about. In fact Justin is probably the one thing he has missed the most.

He's very happy to be coming home after a long time rather far away...

I was thinking really hard about this but I can't come up with any conclusive ideas. Which sorta stinks because abbey and danny had really good ones. Maybe it would rejuvenate my brain to know that people might still read this...is that why my mind is blank?
